Last week Gary and Tom attended The East of England Energy Efficiency Awards, which brought some welcome recognition for the Insight Energy team this year.
We were delighted to receive Highly Commended in Energy Consultancy of the Year, while our work with Lombard Shipping was recognised with a Commended award in the Large Scale Energy Project of the Year category.
Both awards reflect the same principle that underpins every project we deliver: successful renewable energy investments are not driven by technology alone. They are driven by the quality of the decisions that come before it.
Across the industry, attention naturally gravitates towards installed capacity, projected savings and carbon reduction figures. Yet those outcomes are only ever the result of a much wider process. Understanding how a site consumes energy, analysing operational behaviour, testing assumptions, validating technical feasibility and aligning solutions with commercial objectives are the factors that ultimately determine whether a project delivers long-term value.
That philosophy sits at the heart of our work.
Whether we are supporting a complex commercial installation such as Lombard Shipping or advising organisations that are just beginning to explore renewable energy, our approach starts with understanding rather than specification. We believe organisations deserve clear advice, robust analysis and recommendations grounded in evidence rather than assumptions.
It is an approach that helps reduce risk, improve confidence and create solutions that continue to perform long after installation has been completed.
The recognition from these awards is therefore something we are incredibly proud of, not because it marks a finish line, but because it reinforces the importance of doing things properly. Good outcomes are rarely accidental. They are usually the result of good process, sound engineering and a commitment to making decisions based on data rather than guesswork.
As the renewable energy landscape continues to evolve, those principles will remain unchanged. Our role is to help organisations make smarter energy decisions, build confidence in their investments and create measurable long-term value.
