Our client is the Managing Director of Opergy Net Zero. They’re committed to turning ambitious net zero goals into tangible realities and Andy was keen to do that for himself at home too.

He explained that “Even for someone who has a relatively good handle (in my own opinion) on the ever emerging technology available to us to support decarbonisation and sustainability, there are still a lot of uncertainties surrounding the best and most suitable approaches.

To that end, I offer huge thanks to Insight Energy for an outstanding service from start to finish. The passage of information, discussion and recommendations were invaluable. Turning what could be a stressful and time consuming process into a very positive and exciting experience.

All credit to Kristian Day, Lucinda Day, Gary Gibson, Tom Doyle and team for outstanding customer service, attentional to detail and professionalism.”

Currently, we have installed a Solar Edge Technologies system, with PV & Battery Storage, complete with Simpson & Partners EV charger and to follow on in phase 2 will be a ground source heat pump.

Longi Solar Panels: The installation uses premium Longi solar panels, known for their excellent efficiency and sleek aesthetics.

SolarEdge Power Optimizers: Each panel is equipped with a SolarEdge power optimiser, which enables individual panel monitoring and performance optimisation. This technology mitigates the effects of partial shading and ensures maximum energy harvest from each panel.

SolarEdge Inverter: The system features a SolarEdge inverter, which works with power optimisers to convert DC electricity from the panels into AC power for home use. This inverter is designed for seamless integration with the SolarEdge ecosystem, including the battery storage system.

SolarEdge Home Battery: The installation includes a 10kWh SolarEdge Home Battery, which provides significant energy storage capacity. This DC-coupled battery system allows efficient energy storage and utilisation, minimising conversion losses.

SolarEdge Home Backup: The SolarEdge Home Backup system provides full or partial home backup during grid outages. This means you can keep essential appliances running or even power your home when the grid is down, offering peace of mind and energy security.

Doncaster PV Ultra Cabling: PV-Ultra cables are engineered explicitly for DC installations in photovoltaic systems. Designed with high-quality materials for an anticipated lifespan of about 25 years and can operate at average maximum conductor temperatures of 90°C, with short-term tolerance up to 120°C.

Simpson & Partners: The Simpson & Partners home charger offers a combination of elegant design, robust construction, and intelligent features that make it an appealing option for those wanting a high-end EV charging solution.

Optimised Energy Production: The combination of Longi panels and SolarEdge power optimisers ensures each panel operates at its maximum potential, increasing overall system yield.

Smart Energy Management: The SolarEdge inverter and battery work together to optimise energy usage. Excess solar energy is stored in the battery during peak demand periods or when sunlight is unavailable.

Monitoring and Control: The SolarEdge monitoring platform allows homeowners to track system performance, energy production, consumption, and storage in real time through a user-friendly app.

Scalability: The SolarEdge system is designed for easy expansion, allowing homeowners to add more panels or increase battery capacity in the future if needed. This solar PV installation represents a comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to residential solar energy, offering high performance, energy independence, and smart home integration.
