Overview
HB Commercial are a forward-thinking business, and recently decided to expand their existing SolarEdge Technologies, Solar PV system as part of a strategic investment in sustainability and long-term cost reduction. We were excited to design and install this increased solar capacity, which aims to significantly lower operational expenses through reduced energy bills, while simultaneously strengthening their commitment to environmental stewardship. This expansion aligns with their corporate social responsibility goals, enhancing their reputation as a green business leader.
The decision to invest also includes future-proofing their operations by incorporating NexBlue EV charging stations for staff and fleet in a second phase of works. They are already anticipating the growing shift towards electric vehicles, which positions the company to meet the evolving needs of employees and customers. The expanded solar system will power these charging stations using the Wevo Energy platform, creating a self-sustaining energy ecosystem that further reduces reliance on the grid and fossil fuels.

System Components
Longi Solar Panels: The installation uses premium Longi solar panels, known for their excellent efficiency and sleek aesthetics.
SolarEdge Power Optimizers: Each panel is equipped with a SolarEdge power optimiser, which enables individual panel monitoring and performance optimisation. This technology mitigates the effects of partial shading and ensures maximum energy harvest from each panel.
SolarEdge Synergy Inverter: The system features a SolarEdge inverter, which works with power optimisers to convert DC electricity from the panels into AC power for home use. This inverter is designed for seamless integration with the SolarEdge ecosystem, including the battery storage system.
Doncaster PV Ultra Cabling: PV-Ultra cables are engineered explicitly for DC installations in photovoltaic systems. Designed with high-quality materials for an anticipated lifespan of about 25 years and can operate at average maximum conductor temperatures of 90°C, with short-term tolerance up to 120°C.

Wevo Energy Management: Wevo offers an AI powered solution to ensure efficient energy management between the building and Solar PV, which helps maximise all surplus energy and reduces the peak demand.
